Walt Disney Concert Hall – Blue Ribbon Garden

1. Walt Disney Concert Hall – Blue Ribbon Garden

Address: 111 S Grand Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90012
Distance: 3 min walk to The Broad Museum

If you have 30 mins to an hour to spare then head over to the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Walk up the stairs and you will see an outside garden, it’s a great place to chill before heading to The Broad Museum. It’s a quaint little area away from crowds. You can explore around the building and see the metallic exterior and you will also spot a mosaic built fountain.

The Broad Museum

2. The Broad Museum

Address: 221 S Grand Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90012
There are 2 ways to visit The Broad Museum:
  •  reserving advanced tickets (or)
  •  standby (first come, first serve)

My recommendation is to reserve advanced tickets during the morning, the best time is between 10-11:30 AM. You will be able to see all artwork under 2 hours, unless you’re an art fanatic then you can probably be there for hours. This excludes separate exhibitions hosted by the museum.

Standby line could have you waiting there for more than 2 hours depending on the time and day you go.

Those interested in Kusama’s Infinity Mirror Room: If you’re interested in seeing Infinity Mirror Room exhibit you must come within the hour it opens. Trust me when I say this, by the time it hits 11 am the wait time for the exhibit will be an estimated 5 hour wait. Click here to read about my experience of the exhibit.

Optional visit: MOCA – Museum of Contemporary Art

Address: 250 S. Grand Ave, Plaza Level, Los Angeles, CA 90012

Inside of Grand Central Market

3. Grand Central Market

Address: 317 S Broadway. Los Angeles, CA 90013
Distance: 9 min walk from The Broad Museum

LUNCH TIME! I totally recommend heading over to the Grand Central Market, you have endless of food options! The most popular and well known food vendor is Eggslut – there will always be a long line but I hear it goes rather fast. (still need to try it)

Places I’ve tried:

  • Bombo: ♥♥♥♥♥ (out of 5)
  • Tacos Timbras a Tomas: ♥♥♥♥ (out of 5)

Grab yourself a cup of beer/wine/coffee/soda + your choice in food. It’s the best place for a variety of options.

Alternative restaurant: Maccheroni Republic, Lunch opens at 11:30 am

Address: 332 S Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90013

The Bradbury Building – outside exterior

4. The Bradbury Building

A Los Angeles historic landmark, it’s been around since 1893. Outside may look like a typical apartment building but walk inside and you’ll be amazed. It’s best known for the films The Blade Runner, (500) Days of Summer, The Artist, etc.

Another historic landmark, I swear by you when you enter the lobby of the hotel you will be amazed at the indoor decor.
The home of Hollywood glamour, the historic Millennium Biltmore Hotel Los Angeles has been the choice of celebrities, presidents, and dignitaries, and the backdrop for many movies and TV shows. Designated as a historic-cultural landmark, the interior of this beloved 1923 hotel features frescos and murals, carved marble fountains and columns, crystal chandeliers, and embroidered tapestries.
I walked to the restroom and was looking at a few of the photographs from the past, this was the home to the Academy Award Ceremony for the Oscars. Can you imagine all the celebrities and high profile events that were in this very hotel. Star struck.
